The Industrial Pharmacy Committee of the Pharmacy Association of Nepal (PhAN) serves as the voice and advocate for pharmacists working in the pharmaceutical industry. This sector is a cornerstone of our nation’s healthcare system, responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and quality assurance of life-saving medicines.

Our committee is dedicated to supporting industrial pharmacists by focusing on three critical areas:

• Occupational Safety and Hazard Mitigation: The pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, while highly regulated, can present a range of occupational hazards. Our committee works to raise awareness and promote best practices in occupational safety. We advocate for stringent safety protocols, proper handling of chemicals and machinery, and continuous training to protect the well-being of all industrial pharmacists and staff.
• Professional Development and Standards: The pharmaceutical industry is constantly evolving with new technologies and regulatory requirements. We are committed to fostering the professional growth of our members through specialized training, workshops, and seminars. Our goal is to ensure that industrial pharmacists in Nepal are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in areas such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality control, and process optimization.
• Advocacy for the Sector: We actively engage with government bodies and industry stakeholders to lobby for policies that support the growth and sustainability of Nepal’s pharmaceutical industry. This includes advocating for fair regulations, protecting intellectual property rights, and promoting a business environment that encourages innovation and adherence to international standards.
